Bremer was AWESOME

What an awesome weekend in Bremer for the Rainbow Coast Carnival. The carnival ran smoothly with 142 competitors, 71 from Albany. Excellent efforts and participation from all Albany competitors and volunteers, we are proud of you all, you represent our club so well. Particularly the Nippers, who all tried their hardest.

Congratulations to Esperance for winning the carnival. Whilst we didn’t win the cup, finishing second, there’s always next year. The weekend would not have been possible without all the volunteers involved.

A Big Thankyou to Helen Marshall for all her work in organising the event with support from Nick Walker, Denmark, and Esperance Goldfields SLSC.  To everyone who filled roles in planning, taking gear to and from Bremer, set up, pack up, Officials, AGM’s, Water Safety, First Aid, Result Recorders and the kids’ sausage sizzle.  A Big Thankyou: it would not have been possible without your efforts, and involvement. Thank you to Dave Sommers from SLSWA for providing youth training and competition official.

It was great to see a lot of new members, and families at Bremer for the first time; we look forward to seeing you there in the years ahead. The weekend was enjoyed by all. The team spirit, relay events, taplan were a highlight. We should all be proud of ASLSC.
