Founded in 1917 as the Naval & Military Middleton Beach Life Saving Club, Albany SLSC has been part of the Great Southern community for more than a century. Today, our volunteer lifesavers patrol Middleton Beach every weekend from December to April, and provide water safety at nearby beaches and community events.

We are committed to delivering a safe, sustainable and high-quality volunteer service through lifesaving, education and training, surf sports, and youth programs. Our club now has mover 400 members, aged 5 to 90, and continues to grow strongly.

Albany SLSC doesn’t just train lifesavers, we nurture leaders. Young people develop teamwork, resilience, and responsibility through volunteering, leaving them well prepared to contribute in all areas of community life.
