Patrol Sponsors

GSSC, once again I would like to thank GSSC for their ongoing support to the Lifesaving element of Albany Surf Club.

Patrol Inservice – 16th Nov 2026

As our patrol time is fast looming our annual Inservice will be on a Monday night upstairs from 5.30pm.

There is a few changes to patrols this season with 8 teams now making up our roster and we have 4 new Patrol Captains.

Equipment changes: we now have  new radios which Richard will give an education session on at this briefing.

No personal electronic equipment will now be used for logging data on patrol. All must now go through the iPads provided. This includes the surf risk assessment, patrol logs, and IRB logs. These apps will be added onto the iPads for use.

All teams are now done and if you log onto your portal, you will be able to see your roster. If you need to swap the easiest way is to go through the “Stack” app. It’s your reasonability to organize your replacement. If you are unable to find a replacement let you PC know, it’s the right thing to do.

Competition hours, please be aware they are over a calendar year not over a patrol season, however if you have a role within the club or cover regular water safety the club will allow 6 hours to be added to your patrol time.

Thank you all for once again making the effort, giving up your time and volunteering for our club.

Calling all Patrol Members

The season is fast approaching, and the patrol teams will be out mid-October.

There are changes this season with 8 patrol teams and no public holiday patrols.

If you have made the decision not to patrol this season, could you please either email lifesaving@albanysurfclub.com.au or flick Dani a message on 0437 411 557.

Several people have already done this and this is appreciated.

Those choosing not to return this season, thank you all for your past efforts, as Dani’s has said many times before, your time, energy and enthusiasm are very much appreciated!

We need to now focus on the season of 2026-27, we all patrol for different reasons, however, to maintain efficient and safe teams, early planning is the key.

Water Safety

Hi all the nipper season is fast approaching, and first off will be Youth/Seniors and followed by Nippers on the 1st of Nov 2026.

As we all know these events don’t run without water safety so its time for the orange vests to be dusted off.

I will need power craft, boards and tubes ready from 0730 Sunday am, if you are able to assist, please let me know via “STACK” or text.

First Aid

This is just as important and until the patrol season gets underway in December, a first aid officer will be needed each Sunday, it’s a great role and close to the coffee, can’t ask for more than that!! If your free for a few hours on a Sunday, please let me know via “Stack” or text.

Tuesday Nippers Training

Ben Levett has graciously put his hand up to be our Water Safety co-ordinator for this (Legend). The first Tuesday will be the 03/11/26, Once again, this can’t run without people being prepared to get wet. If you are happy to crew, board or tube, please let myself or Ben know via “Stack”.

Thank you all for reading my long posts, Dani.

If you have queries, please contact Dani on lifesaving@albanysurfclub.com.au or flick Dani a message on 0437 411 557.
