🌊 JANUARY LONG WEEKEND – ALMOST HERE 🌊
As we head into the January long weekend, the Club just wanted to pause and say thank you.
Albany Surf Life Saving Club is proud to be hosting the Fuel to Go & Play Country Championships, Fuel to Go & Play Country Carnival, and the 2026 Bicentenary Swim at Midds. With just 3 sleeps to go, the scale of what’s about to unfold really comes into focus.
Across four days, our club will deliver multiple carnivals, social events, water safety operations and a major community swim — all on our home beach. That doesn’t happen by accident.
What’s On
- Friday 23 Jan – Family Movie Night
- Saturday 24 Jan (AM) – Country Championships
- Saturday 24 Jan (PM) – Country Carnival (Nipper & Youth/Open – Beach)
- Sunday 25 Jan (AM) – Country Carnival (Surf Boats, Little Nippers, Nipper & Youth/Open – Ocean)
- Monday 26 Jan – Bicentenary Swim
Volunteers – thank you for stepping up
A huge thank you to the team leads, coordinators and volunteers who have already committed their time and energy to make this weekend happen. The amount of planning, preparation and coordination underway behind the scenes is significant, and it’s a credit to the club.
Events of this size rely on strong teams around each lead. If you’re competing, supporting kids, or simply around the club over the weekend, there are still plenty of ways to lend a hand — before, during or after your events.
Whether it’s:
- set-up or pack-down
- a short shift in the canteen, bar or merch
- beach logistics or arena support
- water safety, first aid or operations
every contribution genuinely makes a difference.
This will be the club’s biggest fundraising weekend of the year and a major milestone as we showcase Albany on the State stage. The more people involved, the smoother the weekend runs for everyone. Many hands really do make light work.
