Sunday #1_03 November
What a great start to the Sunday season! We kicked off with our best social graces with an ‘all in’ beach relay to kick things off which had a strong focus on getting to know your teammates. This was followed by the first board race and 400m club swim of the year. It was fantastic to see the U14’s coming through from Nippers program for their first day with the youth seniors group, following their first 3 weeks of pre-season training on the long boards.
The SRC Surf Rescue Certificate training kicked off for this group following the main session, while the rest of the youth seniors group headed to the Nippers arenas to help out. Ocean conditions were easy but thermals and rashies were still the order of the day!
Sunday #2_10 November Welcoming a number of new starters in stunning conditions at Midds (photos attached for proof!) we followed up the season opener with a challenging combination of beach sprints, ironmans, board races and the ever-popular club swim. Early season fitness jitters aside, this was a great hit out for the group, providing avenues for solo or team participation. Great job guys!
A BIG thankyou to the intrepid IRB & RWC water safety crews and coordinators for the early starts, course setup and on water support for the first two weeks– couldn’t do it without you guys!
