Hi Everyone,

My name is Anna Emery, and I am the Albany Surf Lifesaving Club (ASLSC) Member Protection Information Officer.

ASLSC is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people who participate in our club.  We support the rights of every child and will act at all times to ensure that a child safe environment is maintained. We also support the rights and wellbeing of our staff and volunteers and encourage their active participation in building and maintaining a secure and safe environment for all participants.

ASLSC is committed to providing an environment in which people are treated fairly and equitably and that is free from all forms of discrimination, harassment and bullying. We regard bullying in all forms as unacceptable at our club and have an expectation that everyone is welcoming and inclusive at all times.

The Member Protection Information Officer’s (MPIO) role provides information and guidance on complaints procedures and are the first point of call in the club for any enquiries, concerns or complaints about harassment, abuse or other inappropriate behaviour. The MPIO provides information about possible ways to resolve the issue and provides support to the person who raises the concern. The MPIO is not responsible to investigate or resolve conflict. We have a Complaints Officer (Priscilla Tollec) who will carry out any investigations and formal complaint resolutions.

Please feel free to contact me as the MPIO should you want further information on this role or wish to discuss any matters that are of concern.
