Albany Surf Life Saving Club – Our Values
Albany Surf Life Saving Club is built on a strong sense of community, teamwork and a shared commitment to keeping people safe. As members of our Club, we all have a responsibility to uphold our values, respect one another and contribute to creating a positive, welcoming and safe environment for everyone.
Our values guide how we behave, how we work together and how we represent our Club, both on and off the beach.
Safety: We put safety first in the water, on the beach and in the clubhouse. We take responsibility for our actions, look out for one another and speak up when something is unsafe.
Inclusion: We welcome people from all backgrounds, ages and abilities. We embrace diversity, treat everyone fairly and ensure all members feel valued, respected and included.
Teamwork: We communicate openly, support one another and work together towards our shared goals. A strong Club is built on cooperation, trust and a willingness to help.
Respect: We treat fellow members, volunteers, officials, families and visitors with courtesy and consideration. We respect our Club, its facilities, equipment and the contributions of others, recognising that our behaviour reflects on the entire Club.
Contribution: Our Club relies on the dedication and generosity of volunteers. Every contribution matters, whether through patrols, training, fundraising, events, mentoring or supporting fellow members and the wider community.
Family Focused: We are proud to be a family-focused Club that provides opportunities for members and their families to connect, participate and grow together in a supportive environment.
These values are more than words, they are the standards we are all expected to uphold.
Every member, regardless of age, experience or role, plays a part in shaping the culture of Albany Surf Life Saving Club.
We encourage all members to lead by example, make respectful choices, support one another and take pride in being part of our Club. By living these values every day, we strengthen our Club, protect our Club culture and ensure Albany Surf Life Saving Club remains a safe, inclusive and welcoming place for generations to come.
