At our recent Annual General Meeting on Friday 31/7/2026, members were advised that only one nomination was received during the Board nomination period. We are pleased to confirm that Robert “Blue” Field was reappointed as Finance Director, and we thank Blue for his ongoing commitment to the Club and his willingness to continue serving on the Board.
As there were insufficient nominations to fill all elected Board positions, the remaining positions are now deemed casual vacancies under the Club’s Constitution (old and new).
The Constitution provides that casual vacancies may be filled by the Board from among appropriately qualified persons. Any person appointed to a casual vacancy will serve for 1 year the remainder of the current Director’s term, after which the position will be subject to election in accordance with the Constitution.
The Board is therefore inviting expressions of interest from members who would like to contribute to the future of Albany Surf Life Saving Club. We are particularly seeking interest in the Vice President position, along with additional Board Directors. We are looking for active, engaged members who are willing to contribute their time, skills and ideas to the governance of the Club. Whether your experience is in leadership, finance, governance, administration, project management, events or simply a passion for the Club, we’d love to hear from you.
