The Albany Surf Life Saving Club Annual General Meeting was held on 31 July 2026, with 23 members in attendance, including 20 members attending in person and 2 members joining via telephone.
During the election process, Robert “Blue” Field was elected unopposed as Finance Director for a two-year term. No other nominations were received.
A Special Resolution to adopt a revised Club Constitution was presented to members and was successfully passed. The new Constitution will come into effect once it has been submitted to and processed by Associations Online and will then be made available through the Albany Surf Life Saving Club.
As we reflect on an exceptional successful year, I would like to acknowledge and thank some individuals for their service and dedication to the Club.
Rebecca Stephens – Thank you to Bec for her service as Vice President over the past year. Rebecca’s commitment, leadership, and willingness to support the Club in all areas have been greatly appreciated. Her contribution has helped strengthen the Club and support its continued growth and success. On behalf of all members, thank you for everything you have done.
Sarah Bowles – Thank you to Sarah, who concludes an extraordinary 10 years of service on the Committee and then the Board across numerous leadership roles, including Sponsorships, Director, Vice President, and President. Sarah has been instrumental in many of the Club’s major achievements, including the redevelopment and fit-out of our facilities. She also played a leading role in coordinating the SLSWA Fuel to Go & Play Country Championships and Country Carnival this year, dedicating countless hours across virtually every aspect of Club operations. Sarah’s leadership, passion, and tireless commitment have left a lasting impact on Albany SLSC. On behalf of all members, thank you for everything you have done for the Club.
Simone Klose – We would also like to sincerely thank Simone as she steps down from her role as Club Administrator. Over the past three years, Simone’s dedication and commitment to Albany Surf Life Saving Club have been greatly appreciated. Her efforts have helped ensure the Club has continued to operate smoothly and successfully. While she is leaving the Club Administrator position, we are delighted that Simone will remain involved with the Club as Events Team Leader. We wish her every success in her new role and look forward to continuing to see her around the Club.
Looking Forward
Thank you to all members who attended the AGM and contributed throughout the year. The continued commitment of our volunteers, members, staff, and Board is what makes Albany Surf Life Saving Club such a strong and vibrant organisation. We look forward to another successful year ahead as we continue serving our community and building on the Club’s achievements
