Are you looking to take the next step in your Surf Life Saving journey?
Surf Life Saving WA is excited to launch the new Learn 2 Lead Program, a two-season leadership development program designed specifically for members aged 18 to 30 years who are passionate about making a greater impact within their club and the wider movement.
The program begins with a three-day leadership camp in Margaret River from 21–23 August 2026, where participants will explore topics such as emotional intelligence, team building, leadership styles, goal setting, and leading others. Throughout the program, participants will receive ongoing mentoring from experienced club leaders, develop practical leadership skills, and work towards taking on an official leadership role within their club.
Learn 2 Lead is an excellent opportunity for members who are looking to:
- Develop their confidence and leadership capabilities.
- Build meaningful connections with members from across the state.
- Receive mentoring and support from experienced leaders.
- Gain practical experience in club leadership.
- Strengthen their pathway towards future opportunities, including the Surf Life Saving Australia National Leadership College and Masterclass programs.
The program runs over two seasons and is designed to provide participants with the knowledge, support, and experience needed to become the next generation of leaders within Surf Life Saving WA.
Nominations are now open and must be submitted by 5:00pm Friday 3 July 2026.
To nominate, members can complete the online application here.
We encourage all eligible members with an interest in leadership, personal development, and contributing to the future of Surf Life Saving to consider applying.
If you would like to discuss the program further, please speak with your Club Development Director or contact the SLSWA Sport & Development Team.
