2026 Albany Surf Craft Challenge

What an incredible weekend!

I’m immensely proud of how our club continues to deliver outstanding events that bring together the WA surf lifesaving community to compete, connect, and enjoy everything our sport and club has to offer.

And how good was the weather! The conditions stayed kind to us for most of the weekend, providing a safe and enjoyable environment for competitors, volunteers, and spectators alike. Looking at the weather now, we certainly timed it well, it seems the weather gods were on our side and held off until the event was done!

To all the competitors, I hope you enjoyed your time on the water paddling, rowing and running while proudly representing ASLSC. Congratulations to all on completing the big race and giving it your all.

A huge thank you to the many members who volunteered their time, skills, and energy to deliver this event. The success of weekends like this is only possible because of the incredible commitment of our volunteers. From planning, setup, canteen, bar, admin, regos, recording, results, and pack-down, every contribution plays a vital role, and we are extremely grateful for your time and support.

Our water safety team was, once again, exceptional. Despite some challenging conditions toward the end of the race, they ensured competitors remained safe and provided assistance whenever it was needed. Thank you!

A sincere thank you to all our sponsors. Your support is greatly appreciated and plays a vital role in helping events like this continue to thrive.

Thank you also to Albany Sea Rescue for your ongoing support and partnership with our water safety team in keeping competitors safe throughout the event.

Finally, a special thank you to Nick, our SCC Coordinator. Organising an event of this scale is no small task, yet you always take it on with enthusiasm, a smile, and fresh ideas that continue to make the Surf Craft Challenge a full weekend of memorable activities. Outstanding work and thank you for all that you do.
