Earlier in January, 4 Youth members from Albany SLSC attended the SLSWA Youth Development Camps.
Sophia attended Rise Up, while Zach, Flynn and Mahayla attend TOAD, with their participation at the camps enabled by the Club’s long-time supporters, the Inglis family.
On behalf of the Club, we offer our sincere thank you to the Inglis family for their generous contribution to assist our Youth to participate in youth development initiatives. We are truly grateful for the continued support and the belief in the value of these opportunities is deeply appreciated.
It’s wonderful to see how these experiences help shape confident, engaged young people who contribute positively both within the club and in the wider community.
From Sophia
Thank you so much for letting me go to Rise Up Camp this year.
I absolutely loved it because I was able to make new friends, both from this year and from past years at TOAD Camp. The camp also pushed me out of my comfort zone, especially when I abseiled 40 metres and took part in coasteering, which were amazing experiences.
I’m very grateful for the opportunity and will always remember the experience. Thank you again to the Inglis Family and ASLSC.
From Zach
Thank you to the Inglis family and ASLSC for giving me the opportunity to go to TOAD Camp in Margaret River.
My favourite activity was surfing with new friends. I also really enjoyed canyoning off the rocks and playing volleyball.
The best part of camp was catching up with Flynn and Mahayla over dinner, sharing a chat and having a good laugh.
Once again, thank you.
From Flynn
The TOAD camp was really fun, everyone that went was really friendly and I made a heap of friends as well as seeing some people I already knew which was great. I loved going surfing at the Margaret River Mouth beach, and also the coasteering was great despite a few bumps. The food was delicious and my group ate A LOT of biscuits!
From Mahayla
The TOAD camp was really good. I met heaps of new people and we did lots of activities like surfing and coasteering. The skit night was my favourite nighttime activity as everyone took part and had a good laugh.
The camp leaders were really nice and made the camp fun and enjoyable.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to go.
