The group was treated to a Beach masterclass from our very own Collin Pass this week, kicking off with a highly instructional Beach Relay technical session, and quickly followed by series of Beach Sprints by age groups. Nice to see the full range of competitors suiting up for the sandy dash, from u14s right through to Masters. Jogging straight through from the finish line to the Flags arena, we all got a chance to practice our best technique again before a couple of quick run throughs. Bring on the Bremer beach events!
With the wind finally turning west and cleaning up the remnants of some recent easterly swell on the water, the swim and board races were a good test of not only fitness and clean water technique, but also who get the most benefit from the small breaking waves. Finishing up with the first handicap version of the weekly of the club swim, spirits were high as we got ourselves cleaned up to help out the Nippers. Check out the photos on Facebook!
Thanks to all the Youth and Seniors that assist throughout the Sunday morning from beach and kiosk set-up to supporting Nipper groups, water safety, officiating and pack-up. Great job! The water arena setup crew is doing an amazing job this season, coming down early every Sunday to make sure we are good to go at 7:30 on the dot! Keep any eye for our kiosk volunteer roster slots 7:30-9am after we return from Bremer.
Don’t miss the Rainbow Coast Carnival at Bremer Bay Friday evening 28 November to Sunday afternoon 30 November.  It’s a great weekend of friendly rivalry with Denmark and Esperance clubs and an opportunity to test one’s skills on a different beach.
