Calm, clear and sunny conditions greeted the Youth and Seniors on Sunday morning, and with a seal frolicking out near the string line keeping the water safety crew amused, the morning started with a gentle warmup for all. That was the end of the niceties as endurance was the theme of the morning with a 2km run followed by an ironman with tricky holes tripping up un-suspecting seniors. The club swim rounded out the morning for those with some fuel still left in the tank.
This week was the culmination of a skill and distance buildup over the first three Sundays, and reinforced by the last few months of board and iron training on Wednesdays and Friday mornings. It’s a great building block for the season to come, and sets us all up for the days and weeks where the conditions are tougher, and the surf is up!
Big thanks to all the Youth and Seniors that assist throughout the Sunday morning from set-up to Nipper groups and water safety and officiating to pack-up – absolutely marvelous!

Youth + Seniors have the 7:30-9am spot in the Kiosk each week – put your name on the roster for a date that suits.
