Wrap Up
It is so good to see our Woodside Nippers giving all the surf sports events a go, even when the conditions aren’t perfect. Photos from the day can be found on our Facebook page.
If you have your NRC and are providing water safety, please meet in front of the patrol room at 9am for the Water Safety briefing.
Remember to pack your boards onto the trailers on the beach, and then they will be taken up to the club to wash. The fibre glass boards should all go onto one trailer – this makes it easier for our smaller Nippers to select the correct board each session.
Showers and Bathrooms – could you ensure your Woodside Nipper is using the club facilities rather than the public bathrooms. We need to make sure these are available for other beach users and have had reports that the public bathrooms were not left in good condition after Nippers on Sunday. Showers should be kept short so everyone has a chance to get warm and dry.
Bremer Bay Carnival
Our annual trip to Bremer Bay is fast approaching. Fill in the attached form to register your interest and assist with planning.
Lost Property
We are already gathering a good collection of lost property! The lost property bin will be out on Tuesday and Sunday so you can check for missing items.
NRC Certificate
Congratulations to our parents who completed their NRC for the first time, or who undertook a requal on the 26th. Your participation is essential to running the Woodside Nippers program.
We will be running another session on
Sunday the 23rd November
After Nippers – meet in front of the Patrol Room at 11am.
Sunday Roster
KIOSK & BBQ – This weekend the U11’s are on Canteen roster. Could you please supply baked goods for sale and provide two volunteers to help in the canteen from 8am to 11:30 and two to run the BBQ for the same time. You can arrange with your group to swap out during the morning. If you are on the canteen or BBQ roster please can you ensure you wear appropriate shoes and clothing. See Volunteer sign up sheet for future rosters.
BEACH SET UP – The U10’s are rostered on – can we have some volunteers arrive at 8:00 to assist in setting up for the day’s activities. Approximately 5 volunteers are required. Please make sure you hang about at the end of the session to help pack up.
Coaches Required – Woodside Nippers Training
We are short a couple of coaches to take the U8 and U9 groups for Tuesday Training. Please contact Kathy at nipperstraining@albanysurfclub.com.au or Jane at nippers@albanysurfclub.com.au if you are interested.
Tuesday training starts with a beach session to work on skills prior to hitting the water. We always need water safety volunteers, so please come down and speak to Kathy or Jane. Without appropriate water safety numbers our nippers won’t be able to get wet.
Participants from the U10 to U13 age groups may also attend the Youth and Seniors training sessions. If you wish to join in, Iron sessions are on Wednesday at 6am and Board sessions on Friday at 6am. Arrive at 5.45am to ensure you are ready to go. We also need to provide water safety at these sessions.
