Sunday Water Safety
Youth and Seniors hit the water bright and early at 7:30am, which means we’ll need a few keen helpers there even earlier to get everything set up.
We’ll need assistance setting up the water arena and ensuring everything is ready to go. After the Youth/Senior session, we’ll also have our club swim, so a few extra hands for water safety would be greatly appreciated.
Later in the morning, we’ll roll straight into Nippers, so we’ll also need enough volunteers to cover water safety and help with packing up the arena afterwards.
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn the ropes and build your skills — whether you’re a new SRC or Bronze member keen for some board experience, or an IRB Driver or Crew looking for more time on the water. It’s a supportive, team-focused environment and we’re always happy to help you gain confidence.

Water Safety Briefings
With full access to the new club facilities, we’re reintroducing the tradition of a Water Safety briefing before each Sunday Nippers and Tuesday board training session.
These briefings will help us keep accurate records of all members assisting with Water Safety and ensure we can allocate resources effectively.
We understand that some parents and guardians prefer to stay with specific age groups, but taking a few minutes to meet beforehand will make coordination much easier for everyone.

Patrol Inservice – Wednesday 12 November 2025
Calling all patrol members, Wednesday 12/11/25 will be our in service for the up coming patrol season. Please could all Patrol Captains and as many patrol members attend. Lachlan Olive from SLSWA will be doing an education session on the patrol app. This is how we will now be recording our data for the future seasons. There will be some changes this year and this is a good opportunity to get all the information and ask questions.
If you are no longer available to patrol, please let Dani know as soon as possible, thank you to those who have already been in touch. Teams will be out shortly. Please RSVP by the 07/11/25.
Lifesaving – Rainbow Coast Carnival, Bremer Bay
This year, it’s Albany’s turn to support the Rainbow Coast Carnival in Bremer Bay. We’ll need a strong water safety team including:
- RWC (Rescue Water Craft)
- IRB Drivers & Crew
- Bronze Medallion holders
- SRC & NRC members
We need plenty of water safety volunteers, so please consider stepping up. With colder conditions at times, having enough people means we can rotate through sessions and keep everyone comfortable.
