The Surf Life Saving WA Youth Development Camps are on again this coming summer school holidays. Held at the SLSWA Development Centre in Margaret River, the popular Rise-Up and TOAD camps provide opportunities for participants to develop leadership and interpersonal skills, valuable skills in surf lifesaving and day to day life and build inter-club youth friendships.

Rise Up Camp

The Rise Up Camp provides an opportunity for members to participate in a wide range of physical and social activities that will develop personal leadership skills.

  • For U17 members (15 and 16 year old)
  • Monday 5 to Thursday 8 January 2026
  • $420 per person

Teamwork, Opportunity and Development (TOAD) Camp

The TOAD Camp is a development program to expose participants to a variety of skills and activities that will enhance and encourage their development in surf lifesaving.

  • For U14 and U15 members (13 and 14 year old)
  • Monday 12 to Thursday 15 January 2026

Last season a number of ASLSC youth members attended the camps – here’s what they had to say – Youth Camp Highlights – Rise Up & TOAD – Albany Surf Life Saving Club

Funding support for travel to the camp location will be available through ASLSC from SLSWA. Funding support for registrations is still to be advised.

There are limited spots for the camps, with participants being nominated by their respective club. For any youth member interested in attending the camps this summer, please submit an expression of interest to youth@albanysurfclub.com.au, with information on what you hope to get out of the camp and why ASLSC should nominate you to attend (200 words maximum).

Expressions of interest are due by Friday 24 October 2025.
