The City of Albany advises that Sand Nourishment works will begin at Emu Beach near the corner of Firth Street and Boongarie Street. These works are essential to address significant erosion that has occurred, partly due to an unusual increase of easterly and southerly swells since the last sand nourishment in December 2024.
The City of Albany will endeavour to keep access restrictions to a minimum, but these works will require beach access to be restricted between Griffiths St to Emu Beach
The dual-use path from Middleton Beach to Emu Point will remain open.

The civil works will begin on Tuesday 20th May 2025 and it is expected that these works will be completed by COB Friday 23 May.
