NYE Swim – Results are in!

The 8th annual NYE Swim enjoyed a fantastic turnout with over 160 swimmers signing up to compete across three course distances, with numbers (and moods) buoyed somewhat by some great weather in the lead into the event, promising an easier ride than last years’ epic seas.

Middleton Beach was awash with sunshine and smiling faces as swimmers and crowds alike enjoyed the atmosphere of the event on our favourite home beach.  With the wind picking up and changing direction over the course of the morning, the race started to serve up some increasingly technical challenges to swimmers, with each leg in the long course in particular offering a different experience and requiring several tweaks to the technique.  This made for a fantastic open water swim!

A massive thankyou to all the club volunteers who rallied once again to put on such a great event, along with the generous support of Mason Realty and South Coast Insurance Brokers.  Locals and visitors have come to love this swim as a way to start to their New Years Eve, and very much appreciate the efforts and support of all involved.
