We are starting to plan for the next season of Nippers and are calling for volunteers and expressions of interest in a number of roles.
If you would like to volunteer as an Age Group Manager for U8, U9 and U10 age groups or Age Group Assistant for the 24/25 season, please email your expression of interest to surfsports@albanysurfclub.com.au with your name and the age group you are interested in managing/assisting. These roles are well supported with SLSWA lesson plans to guide sessions and support within the club.
Youth members – please consider these opportunities to further your skills.
We are also looking for a Competition Coordinator. If your Nipper will be attending regional and state comps this is a role for you!
We need a number of volunteers to ensure we can deliver the Nippers program efficiently each week. These include;
- Sunday activities coordinator – scheduling and communicating weekly activities to the team.
- Sunday roster coordinator – managing canteen, BBQ, setup and pack up roster.
- Communication coordinator – newsletter updates and other communications.
- Recorder – managing Sunday attendance registers and collation of season and competition points.
- Comps coordinator – promoting and managing competitions ASLSC nipper members may attend over the season.
- Tuesday Training coordinator – organising coaches and nippers, managing attendance.

Water Safety volunteers are essential to our Nippers getting in the water each Sunday. The 2023/24 Nippers Rescue Certificate (NRC) award is valid until the end of 2024. We will run NRC sessions early in the season to update qualifications and introduce new parents to water safety.
ASLSC will be hosting the Great Southern Regional Qualifiers in January 2025. If you are interested in helping to organise this event, please email nippers@albanysurfclub.com.au
