Volunteer Information Nights

As the new season approaches, we’re calling on all members to step up and make a difference. Our club thrives because of dedicated volunteers like you, but we need more hands on deck. Whether it’s during the season or off-season, your support is crucial in keeping our club running smoothly.

We are a large and dynamic volunteer organisation, with many, many roles: directors, team leaders, coordinators (across nippers, youth, seniors and competition), educators (assessors, trainers and facilitators), patrol captains, patrol teams, emergency response team, water safety, coaches, age group managers, result recorders, officials, carnival coordinators, team managers, bar staff and managers, event organisers and support teams, equipment captains, grant writers, fundraising teams, communications and media, uniforms and merchandise, registrations, member protections officers, first aid, radios, canteen, bar, beach set up/pack down, transport, venue hire, club maintenance and all the vital administration in between including the Rip, the websites and socials.

In addition to our regular activities, we are excited about the redevelopment, which is set to be completed by the end of the year. There will be plenty of work to do as we prepare to move back in, including fitting out the space and establishing new programs and systems.

So…

We need your help. In recent years, we’ve seen a decline in volunteers, with many members taking on multiple roles to ensure operations and services are not impacted. This isn’t sustainable. It’s time to share the load and ensure our club continues to offer the services and community spirit we’re known for.

To better connect you with opportunities to get involved, we’re hosting Team Volunteer Information Nights. This is your chance to meet the team, learn about the various roles, and see where you can contribute.

Event Details:

Location: Great Southern Specialist Centre, East Building, 55 Cockburn Rd

Time: 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Dates: Drinks and nibbles provided. Check the upcoming issues of the Rip for specific team information.

Remember, every role, big or small, makes a difference. We strongly encourage you to attend and consider how you can contribute to our amazing club. Please join us, get involved, and help us build capacity in our club and our members to keep our club strong.
