Introducing…
Albany SLSC Life Member: DANI LYNCH
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Dani Lynch has demonstrated outstanding commitment, leadership and distinguished service to Albany Surf Life Saving Club since joining with her family in 2009. She has been an active volunteer in almost all areas of the club including lifesaving operations, education, surf sports, nippers, youth development, events, social (bar) and general volunteering.
Dani holds the following SLSA qualifications: Bronze Medallion, ART, First Aid, IRB Crew, Pain Management, Spinal Management, WA Training Officer, WA Assessor and Silver Medallion Beach Management. She has put the skills from these awards into action within our club and on our beach having completed 407 career patrol hours. Dani’s dedication to serving the club and our community goes beyond these ‘on the beach’ patrol hours. She is a calm, knowledgeable and approachable trainer within the club and has competently managed and coordinated the Club’s lifesaving operations since 2018. She took on this role, stepping up after four years of being a respected patrol captain. As the Lifesaving Team Leader, Dani has been responsible for ensuring that all components of the lifesaving agreement are upheld, and our patrols are adequately resourced with the required equipment, rosters and the needs of over one hundred qualified volunteers.
Dani is committed to supporting our youth members both in lifesaving development and through their surf sports program, long after her children have left the nipper and youth programs. Dani is on the beach for the Seniors, Youth and Woodside Nipper programs recording results, cheering everyone on, officiating and providing water safety. When the Water Safety Coordinator stepped down last season Dani spent considerable time mentoring a younger member in all aspects of the Water Safety Coordinator role. This succession planning was crucial for our nipper program success and Dani has rolled it out well. Dani was in the Youth Coordinator role for several years connecting with and inspiring our youth members, making them feel at ease and welcome in the club.
Dani is a respected surf sports competitor in the surf boat rowing arena. When she is not giving in other areas of the club, she also out rowing. Dani has twice been awarded Boatie of the Year by her fellow boaties demonstrating that she is well regarded and committed to surf boat rowing. Dani is a great mentor to less experienced boaties drawing directly on her experience representing Albany SLSC in surf boat rowing at WA States, Aussies and the Worlds where she won a Masters Bronze.
Dani is an exceptional volunteer and leader across all areas of our club, thus why she was invited to be on our club Awards and Honours Committee, selected for her all-round knowledge, experience and involvement in our Club.
The Life Members of Albany SLSC recommended that Dani Lynch be bestowed with life membership for her sustained and distinguished volunteer service to Albany SLSC since 2009.
Congratulations Dani!
