Rainbow Coast Carnival – Bremer Highlights

What an awesome weekend in Bremer for the Rainbow Coast Carnival. The carnival ran smoothly with 100’s of competitors, 93 from Albany. Excellent efforts and participation from all Albany competitors and volunteers, we are proud of you all, you represent our club so well. Particularly the Nippers, who all tried their best.

Thank you to Esperance Goldfields SLSC for hosting the event. Congratulations to Denmark for winning the carnival. Whilst we didn’t win the cup, finishing second, there’s always next year. The weekend would not have been possible without all the volunteers involved.

A big thankyou to the Albany officials who ran the beach and water events for the whole carnival, life members Rob Lucas and Celia Waugh and Sarah Bowles with support from Tom and Hamish. For all the pre carnival organisation Helen Marshall, Jane Levett, Nick Walker, Dani Lynch and Carl for Bremer coordination.  Thank you to everyone who filled roles in planning, taking gear to and from Bremer, set up, pack up, AGM’s, water safety, first aid, result recorders, kid’s sausage sizzle and movie. It would not have been possible without your efforts and involvement.

It was great to see a lot of new members and families at Bremer for the first time and we look forward to seeing you there in the years ahead. The weekend was enjoyed by all. The team spirit, relay events were a highlight. We should all be proud of ASLSC.
