The Great Southern Regional Championships were held in Esperance over the weekend, featuring clubs from Albany, Esperance, and Denmark. The event was a great success, with strong performances from all participants.
The nippers, youth, and seniors all competed and demonstrated their skills and dedication. The nipper category saw some outstanding performances, with several young athletes qualifying for the state championships to be held later in the season. This is a great achievement for the young athletes and their clubs, and it is a testament to the hard work and dedication that they have put in over the years.
One highlight was Lilly Taylor from the U8s stepping up to run for Sophia, Jesiah, and Mahayla in the U13 Cameron Relay, showing true sportsmanship and team spirit. Beach run medals were also awarded for the U10 to U13 age groups, with many of our young athletes taking home medals.
Overall, the weekend was a great success, and congratulations are in order for all the athletes and their clubs who competed and did so well. The Great Southern Regional Championships have set the stage for an exciting season ahead, and we look forward to seeing our athletes continue to excel in the coming months.
