Swimming and water safety programs are delivered to local children in Albany, with over 300 enrolments already across two VacSwim series.
Positions are currently available for Water Safety Officers and Swimming Instructors at Cosy Corner, Emu Point and Middleton Beach. The minimum age for employment is 17 years.
Employment as a WSO requires:
- A current SRC or SLSA Bronze, CPR and working with children card
- A Nationally coordinated Criminal History check for staff over 18 years of age
Employment as a Swim Instructor requires:
- A current SRC or SLSA Bronze, CPR and working with children card
- Swim Instructors license
- A Nationally coordinated Criminal History check for staff over 18 years of age
The hourly rate of pay is $34.50
Hours at each venue are:
January Program 1 – Tuesday 3 – Fri 13 January
Albany Cosy Corner 0900 – 1310
Albany Emu Point 0830 – 1240
Albany Middleton Beach 0800 – 1210
January Program 2 – Monday 16 – Wed 25 January
Albany Emu Point 0830 – 1210
Albany Middleton Beach 0800 – 1140
For those locals who may be away from Albany for the holidays, staff are also required at Cheynes Beach, Denmark Williams Bay, Bremer Bay, Peaceful Bay and Windy Harbour, plus many other beaches across the state.
