Lotterywest Grant Presentation

The Albany Surf Lifesaving Club were very pleased to be officially presented with the Lotterywest Grant Certificate by Rebecca Stephens, Member for Albany last Friday.

Funding has now been secured to progress the much-needed expansion of the club building that will improve operations and increase community use.

The expansion will improve the safety, function and efficiency of the club’s core functions; lifesaving, emergency services, training and education, surf sports and competition. It will also make the club more accessible for ambulance services, and improve safety and access for club vehicles to the beach when launching surf boats, jet skis and rigid inflatable boat rescue boats.

The proposed alterations to the building will overall create a safer, more efficient and welcoming community facility with greater capacity to benefit a wider range of the community through new and improved access to facilities, improved lifesaving and water safety operations, and new training and education spaces.

We would like to take the opportunity to sincerely thank Lotterywest for their support of this project.

Thanks also to Rebecca Stephens, Member for Albany. Rebecca has been a strong advocate for the club, and as a member for many years, truly understands the need and importance of this project for our club.

These are exciting times for the club! We will endeavour to keep members up to date as the project progresses.

Albany SLSC look forward  to working with the local community, and our partners; State Government (DLGSC), Lotterywest and the City of Albany to deliver the highest standard of community service, and to make the club expansion project vision become a reality. This project is a holistic solution to the many issues and challenges the club are currently enduring, meeting the needs of the club, community and public precinct.

Enormous thanks to ALL of our partners and key funding bodies who support the club to deliver this critical project: the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, Lotterywest and the City of Albany.
