Comp Cap Youth: Welcome back ALL!
We hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year. If you have had a break, then you will be well and truly ready for the season to start again. This is the month that our competitions begin, first is on the 23/01/22 with the Country Carnival at Bunbury. So with this in mind, a BIG meeting was held between Colin, Dani and Nick to plan future events. The decision is those that wish to go to Bunbury need to be “Comp ready” and those not going will improve their fitness, skills and confidence. Bottom line…there will be no excuse for not having a go! This weekend our events will be: swim, 2km run, boards and flags. Yay, what a great program we all hear you say!
Big congratulations go out to our new group of SRC holders, well done on passing, you will be given your patrol team soon. Please meet at the First Aid Room this Sunday at 8:15am to receive your new Patrol uniform. This is a great service to the community and is at the core of what Surf-lifesaving is all about.
We would also like to acknowledge those that participated in the New Years Swim. It was fantastic to see so many of you down there having a go at such a public event, this shows how much more confident you are becoming in your surf skills. It’s not important which distance you did or how you placed, for us it is about participating. However, now that you have done this once, maybe some of you could tackle the longer distance next year, or better yet think about putting a team together for the 2022 Albany Harbour Swim?
Either way, we are back on the beach this Sunday the 9th of January at 7am for set-up, with smiling faces and gear already packed. Happy Days!
