We started as the Naval & Military Middleton Beach Life Saving Club… way back in 1917. Today, our volunteer lifesavers patrol Middleton Beach each weekend from December through to April and provide water safety to the surrounding beaches and events of the beautiful Great Southern Region of Western Australia.

The Albany Surf Life Saving Club (ASLSC) aims to provide a safe, sustainable and exceptional level of volunteer community service in lifesaving, training and education, sport and youth programming and strengthen our valued position within the community now and for the future. For the past 5 years, the Albany Surf Life Saving Club has had ongoing significant growth in membership numbers, now exceeding over 490 members across all ages from 5-90 years of age. Our club trains not only lifesavers, but leaders.  Many of our young people benefit from the training, teamwork and responsibility of volunteering their time and skill to help others.  Our younger members become well equipped to contribute in all aspects of society.

Surf Life Saving across Australia exists to save lives, create great Australians and build better communities. Through its coastal safety, lifesaving education, sport and recreation programs and services, Surf Life Saving Australia generates significant social and economic benefits for communities across Australia each year.
