This qualification is free to members again this year.

National code HLTAID011 (this incorporates HLTAID009 and HLTAID010)

Updates – Many of us completed this award combined with the BM requal two or three years ago (because it was made free by SLSA). The cert lasts 3 years, so will be running out for many people – check in Members area. SLSA has made the qual free again this season, so the plan is to do a series of 4 hr updates following the requals, i.e. during November and December. You must have a current BM to be able to update.

New awards – There will be opportunities to complete the full award for those who have never held the certificate. The first of these will be with the November Bronze quad – training Wednesday evenings 6:30 to 8pm for six weeks. The second opportunity will be a full day course in the summer break on a date to suit candidates. Please give Jeff a text to seek further info or to register.

The season kicks of with a bang!

Club activity starts day for ALL

Nippers | Youth | Seniors + Orientation

The Woodside Nipper program runs on Sundays throughout the season from 9.00am-11.00am. Be sure to arrive in time for your child to get prepared for the start of the session. Events begin promptly at 09.00am.

The Woodside Nippers calendar of events information on this season’s program will be available here soon. Please note this is subject to change throughout the season. Up to date information can be found in the club’s weekly News reports.

It is expected that parents/carers remain on the beach throughout the duration of Woodside Nipper activities each Sunday.

In addition a number of major events are held throughout the season at various locations around the state.

Nippers also have the opportunity to participate in weekly training sessions at Middleton Beach.

Run over the summer school holidays, our hugely successful Rise-Up and T.O.A.D. camps are important in building inter-club youth friendships. They also provide opportunities for participants to develop leadership and interpersonal skills, essential to not only their success in surf lifesaving but also in day to day life.

There is also an opportunity to obtain qualifications that will assist in their ongoing development towards being a volunteer patrolling surf lifesaver.

Rise-Up Camp

Rise-Up Camp caters for U17 youth members (those aged15 and 16-years). This camp provides an opportunity for members to participate in a wide range of physical and social activities that will develop personal leadership skills.

LOCATION: SLSWA Development Centre, Margaret River

Teamwork, Opportunities and Development (T.O.A.D.) Camp

T.O.A.D. Camp is a development program open to U14 & U15 youth members. The camp is designed to expose participants to a variety of skills and activities that will enhance and encourage their development within our organisation.

Beach, Board and Surf Training

ASLSC offer beach, board and surf training for Woodside Nippers from U8 – U13 on Tuesdays from 5pm to 6pm. This is subject to sufficient coaches and water safety to support the programs.
