A high tide and carnival atmosphere greeted participants of the inaugural BB Minicrete Run held at Middleton Beach on Friday night.
For the first time welcoming competitors and spectators from Esperance and Denmark Surf Lifesaving Clubs, this year’s annual long run attracted great numbers and provided a perfect prelude to the Great Southern Regional Championships to be held the following day.
Hard running category winners will be announced at our end of season presentations for respective age groups including:
· 500m Run – Little Nippers
· 1km Run – Woodside Nippers
· 2km Run – Youth & Seniors
But we aren’t done yet!
The crowd’s blood was up now – following the gruelling competition and success of the long run – and eagerly shifted its attention to the freshly groomed Flags arena and Sprint track, both hosting a quick fire series of entertaining short course battles, ignited by some old but friendly club rivalries, and providing a lot of light hearted moments.
All present were treated to some delicious food options courtesy the Wood Fired Catering Company, and refreshments served from our favourite Club Bar and trusty volunteer crew.
