Clubbies, the 2020 season is underway, so this is a reminder to book your accommodation for the comps and carnivals our team goes to in other towns. This is especially important this year because we are really hoping to have a good team presence at all of these events and accommodation is already booking out very early.
Full details about the programs, registration and fees for this season’s comps and carnivals will be rolled out a few weeks before each event.
Rainbow Coast Carnival – THIS WEEKEND!
The Rainbow Coast Carnival in Bremer Bay is our annual all-ages carnival against Denmark SLSC and Esperance SLSC. Our clubs compete against each other for points to determine the winning club. It is a fantastic family-friendly event!
Bremer Bay Caravan Park is where many of us stay and you can book by phoning: 9837 4018. Consider staying Friday and Saturday night if you are able, because of the early start Saturday morning. The caravan park allows us a late check out on Sunday afternoon.
Country Carnival Bunbury
Country Carnival is a fun surf sports carnival both metro and country clubs attend. Clubs compete against each other for points to determine the winning club and all members in U9s and older can register to be part of our team.
This year Country Carnival is in Bunbury. There are still many motel rooms available at reasonable prices but unfortunately, all the caravan parks are already fully booked. Again, it is best to plan to arrive on Friday night because we have an early start on Saturday morning. To book accommodation visit www.visitbunburygeographe.com.au .
WA Masters and Country Champs- Mullaloo
These exciting competitions take place on consecutive days at the same location. These comps are suitable for those who love the thrill of competition or even just love the challenge of it!
WA Masters is attended by both metro and country club teams. Entrants 30 years and older, compete for individual awards and clubs compete against each other for points to determine the winning club. Many team events are also available.
Country Champs is attended by teams from regional WA only. Entrants compete for individual awards and clubs compete against each other for points to determine the winning club and all members in U9s and older can register to be part of our team. Many team events are also available. Please note that Country Champs is the qualifying event for WA State Championships in March.
This year, these two events are in Perth and normally with Perth- based events we stay at Karrinyup Waters Caravan Park, but due to the exceptional circumstances of 2020, they are already fully booked. So we will organise to catch up somewhere in the evening given we can’t all camp together!
Full details for each carnival/ comp will be in the Rip three weeks before they take place.
